Your entire Team of professionals here at our clinic are TPI Certified.
The Titleist Performance Institute, otherwise known as TPI, is the world leader in golf fitness education. Dr. Sese has worked with TPI since it’s early years and has traveled throughout the United States and Canada to help teach medical professionals, golf instructors, and fitness trainers. Dr. Sese has also been a speaker at the World Golf Fitness Summit and continues to help local TPI students.
Shawn is a Level 3 TPI Certified Fitness Pro. She was the first fitness trainer in Washington State to achieve this level. In addition, Dr. Joe and Grant are also Level 1 TPI Certified Fitness Instructors.
Dr. Sese and Dr. Joe specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of the musculoskeletal system. This includes all the joints in your body and the associated soft tissue structures including your muscles, tendons, ligaments, joint capsules and fascia. Although back pain, neck pain, and sciatica are the most commonly treated conditions, headaches, ankle sprains, rotator cuff tears, elbow pain, and hamstrings strains to name a few are also treated daily.
Chiropractic treatments at our clinic are unique and are specifically tailored for each patient’s case. Due to their diverse background in manual therapy, all treatments incorporate a significant amount of soft tissue therapy in comparison to a typical Chiropractic clinic. Some of their techniques include traditional Massage Therapy, Active Release Technique® (A.R.T.®), Graston Technique ®, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy. Traditional joint manipulation is also used as they have been trained in a wide variety of methods including Diversified Technique, Activator Technique, Joint Mobilization, Thompson Drop Technique, and several others. Patients may also under physical rehabilitation and reconditioning, kinesiotaping, orthotics, nutritional support and other indicated modalities.
As Chiropractic Physicians, they are able to order additional tests such as x-rays, MRI’s and blood tests. They may also refer you to other specialists such as physiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists and nutritionists if needed.
At Northwest Sports Performance & Wellness, we strive to help juniors and college athletes of any sport grow to their optimal potential. Through evaluation and program development, we are able to help them develop into strong and healthy athletes. By working with these athletes from an early age, we are able to promote and encourage optimal grow and development using proven and researched long-term athlete development methods. We can also help their transition from the competition levels of junior high school to high school to college and finally to the professional level.
Because each growing athlete is unique both physically, mentally, and emotionally throughout the growing years, we carefully monitor them through regular treatment, assessments and program modifications. This helps to prevent injuries, maintain and improve performance and helps to ensure each athlete is maximizing the specific growth phase he or she may be in such as speed, strength, flexibility and coordination.
Whether your athlete’s sport is golf, tennis, basketball, baseball, Taekwondo, or even horse riding, we can help the him or her excel in performance and potential and reduce their risk of injury.
Our Corrective Exercise Specialists will help get you into the shape in a
safe and effective manner. All fitness and conditioning clients are first evaluated by one of our Chiropractic Physicians to ensure you are healthy to participate and to help create the best personalized program for your needs and goals.
Programs can be done one-on-one or in small groups. Each program is goal-oriented and frequent re-evaluations are conducted to ensure you are on the right track. There is constant communication with the doctors to coordinate your treatment goals and any rehabilitation needs.
If there is specific sport you are wanting to train for, your evaluation and exercise program will be tailored for it. Clients normally receive a program to follow on their own as “homework” in addition to their in-clinic supervised sessions.

Injury prevention is key for athletic performance but also for everyday life. As the body ages, we know it undergoes wear and tear. Natural processes such as osteoarthritis and degeneration are normal conditions we will all experience. We don't want little nuisances like tight muscles and aching joints to turn into painful muscle spasms and other debilitating issues when they are not treated early on.
At our clinic, we want to see you when you are feeling good and healthy not when you are already in pain and suffering. We want to identify any potential issues before they actually happen. It is like you seeing a dentist regularly to check for cavities and other problems before your teeth fall out!
Each sport leaves the body more susceptible to certain injuries. For example, golfers are more prone to lower back pain versus hurdlers who are more prone to hip pain. As Sports Performance Experts in treatment and training, we are able to help repair, prepare, and strengthen your body to be able to withstand the demands of your sport.
Our experts incorporate the use of the FMS® (Functional Movement Screen) and SFMA® (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) to help identify any weakness, injuries, or other areas of deficiencies that may be contributing to an injury or that may cause a future injury. These tools are helpful in building a better and stronger you!
